A great heist starts from the prior preparation, at least that is how the heist story goes usually. A well-thought-out plan from getting in and getting out and sufficient gear to do so. However, Nia is not well-equipped on doing any of that. Sure, her memory might be stronger than normal people, hence why she is now already memorized the layout of the building inside out, but memorizing it and using it in a smart way is two different things. What she is prepared right now is just a stolen car for the heist and a mask to cover up her identity.

Nia parked in an abandoned parking spot within an obscure area nearby the jewelry shop that she is supposed to rob. She is there not for nothing but she is waiting for her partner in crime for this mission, a man named THEO BECKETT. Nia hopes that he has a good plan on doing this.

it doesn't take long until he's knocking at the window of her car, gesturing for her to roll it down. behind him stands his alakazam, which should give away what the plan is for their mission here.

regardless of whether she rolls the window down, steps out, or does nothing at all, he'll point at the shop ahead of them.

Instead of rolling the windows down, Nia decides to step out and greet the man. "Easy, I have everything memorized in my head." Nia taps her head with a prideful smile. "All of the entrance doors are locked but there is a vent that can lead us to the middle of the shop. The cover of the vent is easy to open, so we can enter through that." Nia tells the information that she has while humming trying to recall another detail. "Oh yeah, the glass showcase is armed with an alarm so we need to find a power box to make an electric outage on that place. However, I don't see the power box location in the layout so we need to find it manually" Nia announces.

"From here to there we need to walk as there is no safe place to put the car," Nia tells her while taking out a small backpack. She tosses another empty backpack to the man. Nia can't help herself to feel that there is something that she forget but decide to shake it off.

Nia is flabbergasted. The audacity of this man trampling upon her hard work for memorizing the layout. Doesn't he know how she takes an all-nighter to think of this possible route and she often goes back and forth to that place for an on-the-site observation? Sheesh, Nia has a hundred words to complaint but she decides to let it go.

"Guess, I am as ready as you are," Nia said while grumbling showing a slight disagreement with the approach that he takes. Sure, the approach is not wrong in the slightest, it even decreases the hassle for them to crawl the tight vent. But just because it is easier and not wrong, that doesn't make her suddenly feel happy. Nia wait for the man to teleport them to the inside of the room.

Sure, it doesn't take a lot of time for them to enter the room through the teleport. It just saddened her up a little bit knowing that Theo has zero sense of adventure, but oh well. Nia looks around trying to find a place that could possibly be a power box. While she was studying the layout, she already circled out several possibilities of the power box through the help of some reference book. Not wanting to touch the glass where all of the jewelry is yet, she carefully wanders around to a relatively big jewelry shop - Then she noticed a small bump on the ceiling. "Curses! I forgot to account this part" Nia put her back to the nearest wall, away from the small bump on the ceiling as she whisper to Theo. "I should have seen this coming - There are some security cameras, here and there. Give me a moment" Nia takes out Nina from her Pokeball. Nina stares at Nia curiously then looks at Theo before scoffing at him.

"Nina, disable those cameras please," Nia asks, not realizing what Nina did to Theo. Nina slowly creeps out and her eyes glow for a moment before the camera's light suddenly vanishes. "We need to proceed more carefully but fast. The guard might notice the faulty camera soon" Nia tells Theo as she goes to a possible spot followed by Nina.

"we're on a timer now."

he follows after her, able to stay in the shadows even if it's not really required at the time. the camers are disabled, but that doesn't mean they're alone.

soon, they reach one of the possible rooms only to find that it's locked.

After sneaking around from the camera while Nina disabling the camera, they finally reach a room that is supposed to store the power box. Nia reaches to the door and, unfortunately, the door is locked. Theo also noticed it and raise a valid question. "I know the theory but not in practice" Nia mentions, rubbing her chin trying to ponder. "Even if I know how to do it in practice, I am afraid that I am underprepared for this kind of stuff" Nia announces, then she snaps her finger - realizing what they can do.

"How about you and your Alakzam teleport inside and turn down the power then teleport back. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea" Nia declare, pointing at the locked door. "Alakazam sure can easily be the strongest instrument to create a locked room murder mystery. I could use that in my book" Nia mutters, waiting for Theo to teleport in as she is musing about a plot idea for her book.

Nia stares at Theo for a moment with a blank stare. This man must be a funny man with skewed priorities. A non-time limited event like before - The man has no qualm about utilizing the teleport. However, when it is clear that they don't have much time on hand, he decides to not go with the Teleport method. If he wasn't a funny man, she doesn't know what he is.

"Do you always bring your lockpicking kit everywhere?" Nia asks, letting out a sigh as she takes the kit. Crouching right in front of the keyhole, she starts to tweak the mechanism with the metal rod and the hook from the kit, the book says that a conventional lock should have some pin that she needs to push upward and make sure they stay there until every pin locked to its place and she can turn the lock. However, since this is her first time actually doing it - trying to find the pin and finding the right height is really time-consuming. "It should be anytime now..." Nia lied as she doesn't know how many pins left she need to do but she can feel that she make a progress. Slow progress, but progress regardless.

there's not much for them to keep watch for. it's dark, quiet, and empty, which allows them as much time as they could possibly need.

he almost looms over her, watching from over her shoulder as he undoubtedly puts pressure on her.

"It is, thank you Mr. Obvious" Nia grumbles while still trying to feel out the inner mechanism of the lock. One... Two... Nia manages to find the soft spot for the first two pins and all that is left is the third and fourth. Due to the suspense, she often stops for a moment thinking that she heard something but when she tries to listen to it quietly - She doesn't hear nor see anything off. Third... Nia silently fistbumps within her mind as she finds the soft spot for the third pin which makes the fourth pin be the last pin that she needs to fiddle.

The fourth pin is pushed and now she can turn the lock and the door is finally open. "Phew, that should do it. Would be much faster and safer if we were teleporting inside." Nia still grumbles walking to the power box and trips all of the electricity. "Okay, grab all of the jewelry as much as we can." Nia declares. Putting varieties of jewelry into her bag.

"No" Nia gives a flat-out refusal after hearing what Theo has to say, slinging the bag to her shoulder, and walks to where the vent that she mentioned earlier. "We will use this route instead" Nia points her finger at the vent with a deadpan expression and quickly unscrew it. "We wasted our time on the lock, so we definitely have time to spare to crawl ourselves out from the vents. So, guys first" Nia waits for the man to enter the vent with a crossed arm on her chest. Waiting for him to crawl.
